hurghadaquad.tours helps people on a beach holiday on Egypt's Red Sea coast choose one good half-day or evening in the desert. Most readers are already at their hotel, or about to fly, and want quick answers: quad or buggy, morning or sunset, how long they actually ride, what the price includes, what they pay in cash on the day, whether children can come, and whether a listing online or the hotel desk is the better deal.
The site is not the official site of any safari company, desert camp, hotel, tour operator or Egyptian authority. Where we write about a company, we say what it is, what it sells and how to book it, based on what can be checked.
What we cover
- Trip guides: quad tours, buggies, super safaris, jeep trips to the mountains, stargazing, the Bedouin village evening, camel and horse rides.
- Planning pages: prices and cash extras, the best time to go, what to wear and how to stay safe, trips with children, and the resorts' distances to the desert.
- Reviews of named operators: safari companies, a desert camp, local agencies and hotel excursion desks, collected on the operators page.
The guides are written in British English and translated into Arabic, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian and Chinese. Operator reviews and the legal pages are in English only.
How we work
Desert trips in Hurghada are sold through many layers: safari stations on the desert edge, the companies that run them, resellers, booking platforms, hotel desks and street sellers. The same trip can appear under several names, and the company on a listing is often not the one you expect. Our job is to untangle that for you.
- Facts are checked against sources we can cite: official travel advice (such as the UK Foreign Office and Germany's Foreign Office), operators' own websites and published terms, the booking platforms' terms, Egyptian press and official climate records. Where we could not confirm something, we leave it out or tell you what to ask.
- Prices are read from GetYourGuide and Headout and dated on each page. Platform prices are "from" prices that change often, so we always show them as "from", and the price boxes on our pages carry the date of the last check. Prices from operators' own sites are quoted in the currency they use, and we do not convert them.
- Riding time is kept apart from trip time. A listing's duration usually runs door to door; we say how many minutes you spend on the quad or buggy where that is published, and tell you to ask where it is not.
- We name operators only where the evidence supports it. Booking platforms do not always show who runs a trip in the data we can read. Where the operator is not named, we say so and tell you to check the name on the listing before you pay.
We do not accept payment for reviews, and no company can buy a better score or a place in our lists. The editorial scores on review pages are our own judgement of the facts, not an average of customer ratings.
How the site earns money
The site is paid by affiliate commission. When you book through a link to GetYourGuide (through its partner programme) or Headout (through its affiliate programme), the platform pays us a share of its commission. Those links are marked as sponsored and go straight to the partner's site. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to the platform directly.
Commission never decides what we write. We tell you when the hotel desk includes something the platforms do not, when a cheap listing hides a cash fee, and when a trip is not worth the money.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, book, change or cancel trips. Your booking is a contract with the platform and the operator.
- We do not run any safari station, camp or vehicle.
- We do not have user accounts, a newsletter or analytics. See the privacy page for the details.
Corrections and contact
If something on a page is wrong or out of date (a price rule, a pick-up supplement, a company that has changed its name), please tell us by e-mail at info@hurghadaquad.tours. Operators are welcome to send corrections about their own business, with a link to where the information is published. More on the contact page. The disclaimer explains the limits of what this site can promise.
