Miniature Egypt Hurghada stands for two different things: the model park in Makadi Bay, and a cheap "5-in-1" desert safari connected with the same name. The park is real and sells its own tickets. The safari is a separate product, run at a desert camp, and we could not confirm who operates it, so check the operator name on the listing before you book.

Who Miniature Egypt Hurghada is

"Miniature Egypt Hurghada" is the name Mini Egypt Park uses on booking platforms: Expedia credits the park's entry ticket to an operator of that name. Mini Egypt Park is a miniature theme park in Makadi Bay; the resort area is about 38 km by road south of Hurghada Marina.

When it soft-opened in 2016, Daily News Egypt described it as Egypt's first miniature park: 55 models of landmarks from Cairo, Alexandria, Sinai, Luxor and Aswan, on 30,000 m² that include 3,500 m² of lakes standing in for the Red Sea, the Suez Canal, the Mediterranean and Lake Nasser (https://www.dailynewsegypt.com/?p=599583).

The park's own site sells only the park visit, with pick-up options from Hurghada, Safaga, El Gouna and Al Ahyaa. It prices adults from age 12, children 3–11 and infants under 3; the current ticket price is calculated on the booking form and was not readable when we checked. There is no safari, quad or buggy on the park's site (https://miniegyptpark.com/).

What the park's name is doing on a desert safari

A 5-in-1 desert safari on GetYourGuide may be sold by the same booking account; Hurghada attractions often double as excursion sellers. We could not confirm it: the listing summary does not name the safari's operator, and nothing in its description mentions the park. GetYourGuide shows the operator's name on the listing page, so check it.

What is certain is that the safari is not held at the park. The park is a model garden; the safari goes into the Eastern Desert to a Bedouin-style tent camp, like the other evening safaris from Hurghada. No source names the camp.

The 5-in-1 safari: what you get

The Safari Jeep, Quad, Buggy, Camel Ride with BBQ Dinner and Show lasts 5–6 hours and includes, as its title says, a jeep, a quad, a buggy, a camel ride, a BBQ dinner and a show at a Bedouin tent. It rates 4.6 from 1,304 reviews and starts at about $26.

It is one of the few combos that really includes all three vehicles. The trade-off is time at the controls. On comparable super safaris the quad leg is 30–45 minutes and the buggy 15–30 minutes; the rest is the jeep ride (about 25 km each way to a camp), the camp stop, the camel and dinner. This listing does not state its riding minutes: ask. The listing also calls the desert the "Sahara". It is the Eastern Desert, between the Nile and the Red Sea; the ride is the same.

Expect the usual evening camp: tea, a short camel ride, a buffet and a show that typically mixes belly dance, tanoura (the Egyptian whirling-skirt dance) and fire. Read our super safari guide for what "super" and "mega" mean on each listing, and the desert safari guide for the hour-by-hour.

Prices: the safari and the hotel-desk version

On GetYourGuide the 5-in-1 safari starts at about $26 per person; the price shown is the cheapest option, which may leave out dinner or pick-ups from outer resorts. From Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna, Soma Bay or Safaga many sellers add €5–15 per person, often in cash, and scarves and goggles cost about €5 each at the station.

For comparison, TUI's activity platform musement.com sells Travco's 8-hour quad, 4x4, buggy, camel, Bedouin dinner and show from £59 when we checked. It is dearer but includes accident insurance and a written 24-hour refund rule; see our hotel desk review. Do not convert one into the other; compare what each includes.

Miniature Egypt Hurghada reviews: what travellers say

The safari listing's 4.6 from 1,304 reviews is a solid score for a cheap combo. Read the newest reviews on the listing, and before booking check:

  • The operator name on the GetYourGuide page.
  • Minutes on the quad and buggy, not the length of the trip.
  • What the price includes: dinner, show, pick-up from your resort, any cash "safari fee" of about €5–10 that some listings add.
  • The age rules in the option you book: quad drivers are 16 or older on every product that states it.

For the park, check the current ticket price and pick-up times on its site before you go.

How to book

The park: through its own site or a platform listing for the park ticket. There is no park ticket among the listings on this site.

The safari: through GetYourGuide, whose standard rule is a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before (the listing shows its own terms). Your contract is with the local operator named on the listing, not with GetYourGuide or with us.

Alternatives: comparable super and mega safaris

For a quad-and-buggy evening with a better-documented programme, the listing with the same programme as Scorpion's Discovery PM tour is covered in our Scorpion Safari review.
