hurghadaquad.tours is an independent guide to quad, buggy, jeep and desert trips from Hurghada and the Red Sea resorts nearby. We are not a tour operator and not affiliated with any safari company, camp, hotel, tour operator or Egyptian authority. You can read every page without giving us any personal information.
Who is responsible
The site is run by hurghadaquad.tours. For anything about this policy or your data, write to info@hurghadaquad.tours. We do not publish a phone number or a street address for enquiries, and we answer by email.
What we do not collect
- No user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to store.
- No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any other tracking or statistics tool, and we do not build visitor profiles.
- No newsletter, no comment forms, no contact forms. The site has no forms that send us data.
- No advertising networks. We show no third-party adverts and run no retargeting pixels.
- No social media plug-ins that load from the networks' servers.
Server access logs
Like every web server, ours writes standard access logs. For each request a log line normally holds the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the browser's user-agent string, the referring page if your browser sends one, and the response status.
We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure: to find broken links, spot errors and deal with abuse or attacks. We do not combine them with other data, and we do not use them to identify visitors or for marketing. Logs are kept only as long as these purposes need and are then deleted.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where it applies).
The GetYourGuide booking calendar
Many pages show a live availability calendar from GetYourGuide, our main booking partner. It is the only third-party code on the site. When it loads, your browser connects to GetYourGuide's servers, which receive your IP address and technical browser data, and GetYourGuide may set its own cookies. What GetYourGuide does with that data is set out in its own privacy policy.
You decide how the calendar loads:
- Load automatically: the calendar loads as you scroll near it. This is the default.
- Only on click: nothing loads from GetYourGuide until you press the button inside a calendar.
You can change this at any time with Calendar settings in the footer of every page. Your choice is saved in your own browser's local storage under the name hq-cc. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. The cookie policy has the details.
Affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Headout
We earn a commission when someone books through our links to GetYourGuide (partner programme) or Headout (affiliate programme). These links are marked as sponsored and go straight to the partner's site; there is no redirect through our server, so we do not record your clicks.
The link carries our partner identifier so that the partner can credit the booking to us. Once you are on the partner's site, its own privacy policy and cookie rules apply, including for anything you enter when booking. The partner does not pass your name, contact details or payment details to us. The price you pay is the same as when you visit the partner directly.
If you email us
If you write to info@hurghadaquad.tours, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request, and we do not add you to any mailing list. We delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless we must keep it for a legal reason.
Fonts, maps and images
Our fonts are self-hosted: no request goes to Google Fonts or any other font service. The maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and Natural Earth (public domain), and they are built into the pages, so viewing a map contacts no map provider. The "directions" links beside a map open Google Maps, and only if you click them. Images are served from our own server.
Your rights
Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest and ask us to restrict it. In practice, the only personal data we may hold are server log entries and any emails you have sent us.
To use these rights, email info@hurghadaquad.tours. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
Children
The site is a travel guide for adults planning holidays. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and since there are no forms or accounts, there is nothing for a child to submit.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts to process data differently, for example by adding a new partner tool, we will update this page and its effective date before the change goes live. See also our terms of use, the disclaimer and how we work.
