What this site is
We publish guides, comparisons and reviews to help you choose a desert trip. We are not affiliated with any safari company, desert camp, hotel, tour operator, booking platform or Egyptian authority, and we are not their official site. We do not sell trips, take payments or hold bookings.
Everything on the site is general information. It is not personal travel, medical, legal, insurance or financial advice. You decide which trip to book and whether it suits you.
Bookings are with the platform and the operator
Our booking links take you to GetYourGuide or Headout. If you book there:
- your booking is made under that platform's terms, and the trip itself is a contract with the local operator who runs it (GetYourGuide, for example, acts as an agent between you and the operator named on the listing);
- prices, availability, cancellation rules, refunds, pick-ups and inclusions are set by the platform and the operator, not by us;
- complaints and refund requests go to the platform or the operator. We cannot change, cancel or refund a booking.
We earn a commission from the platforms when you book through our links. The price you pay is the same. The commission does not decide what we recommend: our editorial scores are our own, and we do not accept payment for reviews. See about us for how we work.
Prices and details change
We check facts against official sources, operator websites, Egyptian press and official travel advice. Prices are read from GetYourGuide and Headout and dated on each page. Even so, trips in Egypt change often: operators change programmes, camps, timings and cash extras; platforms change prices from day to day; rules and fees can change without notice.
So the information on a page may be out of date or incomplete by the time you read it. Always check the current listing, price, inclusions and cancellation rule before you pay. If something we say differs from the booking page, the booking page applies to your booking.
Risks and your safety
Quad bikes, dune buggies and off-road jeep rides carry a real risk of injury, and so do camel and horse rides. Desert trips also involve heat, dust and cold nights. By taking part you accept these risks, which lie between you and the operator.
- Follow the operator's safety briefing and rules, and wear a helmet.
- Respect the age, health and weight limits the operator sets.
- Check your travel insurance before you ride. Many policies exclude quad bikes or attach conditions to them.
- Do not ride after drinking alcohol.
Our safety and practical guide summarises official travel advice, but it does not replace the operator's instructions or the official advice itself.
What we are not responsible for
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for:
- anything an operator or platform does or fails to do, including changes to a trip, cancellations, delays, no-shows, the condition of vehicles or animals, and the conduct of staff;
- accidents, injuries, illness, loss or damage during a trip;
- weather, dust, heat, road conditions or official restrictions;
- prices, fees, cash extras, exchange rates or availability on partner sites;
- the content, privacy practices and availability of third-party websites we link to;
- losses caused by relying on information on this site that was out of date or incomplete.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
